=========XIV. June 3, 2006=========================
Jose stared out the window sitting in front of his computer. He was thinking of many things. But none of them compared to what he just received on his computer.
About a week ago, strange things happened to Jose. (And to me too, that's why i couldn't update.) His cellphone kept turning itself off, his computer kept crashing, his phoneline was down, and he was getting no news from the Agency.
After salvaging parts from electronics from all over his house, he managed to get his cellphone working and his computer to be stable.
Two days ago, during the enrollment in his new school, his cellphone kept displaying that there wasn't any signal for miles around. It was really strange for it was the same with his batchmates.
He tried contacting the Agency, for he'd missed several dates and events, but he couldn't. Conclusive evidence pointed that he was being traced, tracked and monitored.
Today, Jose made some modifications to his computer and finally got somewhere. He unhooked his DSL cable, took out the PCI card for the broadband from the computer. Using his sister's Barbie phone toy and a makeshift modem, he connected to the Internet by getting in touch with a solid phone line deep within the earth.
When he checked his messages, he wasn't surprised at all to see what he saw.

Jose, there's a lot of transmission going on over there in your area, there might be something up, thought you should know.

Jose, you aren't responding to several of our calls, emails and messages. We'd like to know what's going on there. There's nothing unusual to prevent you from replying.

Jose, by the time you get this, it might be too late already, but we'd still like to try.
Indirect Intel from another agency has detected a concentrated jamming field over a 1 mile radius, with your house in the middle. Within the umbrella of this field is your school. Agents sent into the area to recover you have misteriously vanished and lost contact. It's confirmed, your area is the Bermuda triangle of the Net.
As of the moment, you are off the grid. Should you receive this, bear in mind that there's something going on in there and you should always keep guard. Secondly, your mission still stands. Protect the school. Third, there will be a briefing for all agents who're protecting the school on the 7th.
Since we are unable to bring in reinforcements, you are on your own. However, if you do receive this, DO NOT REPLY. On the 4th, meet one of our operatives in the UP lagoon. She will discuss things further from there.

Jose had been expecting this. But what he was slightly impressed by the speed and efficiency of the silencing of communication. Still, he
had been expecting this. You can't say Jose was never prepared...

Due to our previous excursion, we shall have to take more cautious. This is the most secure piece of email I have ever sent. Honestly, I’m starting to think as you do. I think there’s a mole in the Agency, but it will take time to find out who. And we don’t have that time. Intel won’t give us info, so we’ll make our own. Gathering my own techs and agents from my own department, we’re discreetly working this out. Starting from square 1. Now, you might want to know some stuff too, much like the list I gave you. But we didn’t have much time to talk about it. I’ll risk writing it here. Don’t worry; my techs have worked 40 hours on encrypting this baby.
1.) Economical Status of the Philippines.
The recent rise of our economy is suggesting that the government is working on something else. Usually, most of the taxes that go to the national black budget would have produced results beneficial to most agencies. But there have been none. Rumors tell us that the government has been taking interest in secret dealings with unknown groups, foreign collaboration and other highly unusual stuff. We don’t have the exact info on that for all of our efforts go to the Information division, under the Internal Director. Don’t expect me to ask from him, we’re not exactly on close terms.
Anyway, the government’s up to something and although it’s been doing well to the community, for the agencies and groups on the Net, it’s very suspicious.
2.) Recent Scientific Findings.
This one, you might have an interest in. The Parametrical Society for Human Sciences and several abroad Societies, much notably in Japan, have recently discovered some sort of hidden power within every human being.
You ever watch Dragon Ball? Or, El Hazard? Get Backers? Gate keepers? How bout the Matrix? Or Star wars? X-men?
They all have something in common. And that’s they’re showing that the human person is capable of doing more than was though to be. It’s a highly experimental field of research at the moment. But it was such big news when it hit Japan that it leaked so much that it started many Animes, much like when they finished a working deadly human cyborg, some asshole leaked it and called it Astroboy.
The point is everyone has a possibility to release a certain attribute or power. This is the latest craze. Reports of people having this kind of power is already confirmed and sighted, though not known.
3.) The Parametrical Society for Human Sciences
Now, we believe that this year, the Society has already come up with a way to amplify the powers of a person and to bring it out prematurely without waiting for it to come up naturally like most people for that possibility of it happening so fast would be 1 out of 400,000. The plans and the devices they are making are now the target of most agencies. This is the reason they’re protecting the complex. The one who does them the most good will receive a sample of the device.
This is something anyone would die for. We think that this could be the reason of the recent excursions. We don’t know for sure though, but this is our best guess. We’re not logicians, we’re agents. But we do our best.
I still have space in here to add a small speculation.
Those packages that you’ve picked up are alloy-metals from a mineral called “Pallasite”. We ran an extensive search on the string and all we picked up was that it was a rare metal found in meteorites. I don’t know what they plan to do with it or why it’s with you, but then it’s valuable.
Goodbye for now. More to come when we get to speak again.

=========XII. May 14, 2006================
It was a cold wet night, raining. Yes, raining. Something really rare in the summer, considering the condition of the Philippines. The last MRT train stopped at the last stop and a throng of passengers stepped out. A teenager, without a coat or umbrella, hurried towards his destination. As he walked over the overpass towards SM city, he thought of the past few days.
Not minding the drops of rain falling, he thought of the “accidental” deaths of some of his fellow agents. A few days ago, he just killed the person who allegedly ordered those attacks. But there was still something about it.
****FLASHBACK****
“Please don’t kill me!” said the man, “I can tell you more! I know who’s the mastermind behind all this.” Jose cocked the rifle. “Please!” pleaded the man. “There’s a person who hired me to do that! There’s an even bigger plot!”
****END FLASHBACK****
Jose walked down the overpass and walked to the teller machines. Once he was sure no one was watching, he slipped his ID into the machine. A few second later, a door opened right next to the machine and he stepped into it. Inside was an elevator. Jose placed his thumb in a small pad next to the elevator controls.
===========
Agent Jose Tan
Codename: Silent_Retribution
Agency: M.A.G.I.S.
ID and scan match, agent confirmed.
===========
Jose walked in. The doors closed and without word, the elevator descended rapidly. When it opened Jose walked out. A sign above him said, “Outpost 21, SMNE area.”
Two agents in shades acknowledge the teenager and beckoned him to follow them. He was led into several corridors and rooms until he came into a huge metal box. Jose stepped inside and sat on a steel chair.
Inside the metal room as well was the M.A.G.I.S. Operations Manager, Thomas Lim. “So, Jose. We both have reasons for requesting each other’s audience in a secure location in the best time possible. Which brings us to Outpost 21, one of the most secure places of communication in the area. It’s got all we need for a secure conversation. Now, I’m at a loss as to why you want me so I think I’ll offer you to explain yourself first.”
“Time are hard sir, and these recent attacks have made me uneasy. I could handle it, of course. But I think it has something to do with my long-term assignment.” Jose paused, and leaned forward. “Two days ago, I tried reviewing the files of the deceased agents and they showed nothing but basic info. Their names, ages, ranks, favorite food, cause of death, etc. But there’s nothing about their latest assignment and the reason of their deaths. I was told that I didn’t have access for that.”
Jose leaned back to his chair and resumed. “Sir, can you get that info for me? I need to know. Instincts tell me this has something to do with…that place. Or…is this agency hiding something from me?”
Thomas looked at Jose with a surprised expression then said, “Jose, I’m surprised that you doubt this agency. How can you possibly accuse-”
“Don’t start with me. In the first place, my agreeing to work for you people was only because people are after those I care. Now, if they come to harm the way those agents did…then we’ll see who’s sorry for not giving me that info.”
“But Jose! We have protocols to follow, procedures to trail and many things to track. I mean, not even I could have access to that! In agencies like the M.A.G.I.S., the organization would be so big that not everyone would know everything for the sake of secrecy. You understand that.”
*sigh* “Can you at least confirm that it has something to do with…it?” “That I can tell you definitely. Yes it does. But what the purpose of killing those agents are, I don’t know the answer. The operations division has nothing to do with intel, other than collect it and act on it.”
“Right. Now I suppose you have something to tell me?”
“Yeah. And it’s about your mission. First of all, I’ll give you a short recap on what we talked about during the meeting in UP where you were absent. I’ve made a short list of the items discussed and a short description.” Thomas handed Jose a 2-page folder. “And then, there’s the matter of your enrollment in that place. It’ll be on the 29th, so you prepare for that. Next, there’s gonna be an orientation a few days after that. And in the afternoon of that day, there’ll be an agent orientation.”
“Agent orientation?”
“Yeah. All agents who reside in that place will have to go through an orientation and for a recap through their training. Also, it shall give new insights to the stuff discussed during the said meeting in UP.”
“So we’ll finally know who’s who?”
“Um…I’m not sure about the procedure, but you will definitely not know who is who. Unless you’re a great detective or something.”
“Right. Is that all?”
“No. I have other news. Due to the start of school this June, our operations and activities shall be increased again. And because we’re becoming more wary of the situation, we’ve pulled in about a dozen more agents in this operation. Although few will be actually in the field such as yourself. Now, the next thing is that you will be introduced to your team and an agent who shall oversee your operations.”
“Wait. I have to work with people?”
“Yes. And I’ve met the agent who’s going to direct your mission. Frankly, he’s some kind of asshole. But bear with him. He’s new and he was the top of the graduating batch.”
“Right. Ok, thanks for the heads up. When do I meet the new team?”
“Not anytime soon, probably during the start of-”
Jose held up his hand to signal to stop. Jose pulled out from his pocket a small device that started blinking seconds ago. He grabbed a pen and paper and wrote:
“Keep talking. We’re being bugged. Not within Outpost 21, but from outside it.”
Thomas started feigning a cough. “Sorry Jose, my throat’s not really well. Anyway…”
“Good. Now keep a steady monologue while I go outside and dispatch a team to get the eavesdroppers.”
Thomas nodded and kept talking. Jose slipped outside the metal box and looked for any agent. When he found one, he asked to be brought to the central control room of the outpost.
When he was there, he found the man in charge and said, “Sir, I think that there’s a bugger in the area.” “I don’t believe you. This outpost is the most secure places of communication in the area.” “Yes, but I’d like to check anyway. My device tells me that someone’s listening within the area. Can you get me a visual? At least a mile or so?”
The man consented. But all they found were a few pedestrians, 4 parked cars and a jeep.
“Sir! The eavesdroppers are in the jeep! You can see it faintly behind the curtains of the jeep!” (What? A jeep has curtains? Hey, it’s raining. Jeeps put that plastic ewan crap.)
“Damn! Ready the comm./radar jammers and call in a squad to the area. Bring in a chopper from the airbase if possible.”
“Mister, have you got action-ready cars?”
“Sure. Basement 2. but don’t worry. They can’t get away.”
Jose didn’t bother. He slid down to the basement and looked at the cars. He looked around and found an Acura. It was sleek and black. He slid himself inside it and examined it. It had a radio inside along with some other nondescript buttons built into the window controls. Jose configured the radio to the right frequency and backed up the car and out of the outpost.
“Sir, the squad is in place and ready for action. We have 2 minutes ETA before the chopper arrives and the back-up teams are ready.”
“Good! Take the jeep! Now!”
Jose waited a few seconds later.
“Sir! They’ve got back-up! Several of the bystanders have automatic weapons on them!”
“Send our back-up teams!”
And a little later…
“There are gunmen in the cars! In the cars! The jeep is moving sir! Along with their 4 car escort!”
“Do we have a pursuit squad ready?”
“No sir. All we have is the chopper. But it’s a minute away and they could still escape.”
Jose grabbed the radio and said, “This is an agent in one of your cars! open the outpost gates and get reinforcements to where I am!” Jose pushed the gas down and the car lurched forward.
The Acura’s engine roared into the night. Going a little over 180mph, Jose was driving in control. “I need directions. Which way did they go?”
“They’re heading for Edsa. Go around then turn left. They’re bound south.”
“Ok. Call the MAGIS MO from the comm. box down below.”
“No need Jose, I’m here.”
“Ok. Sir, if you can find a way to make this piece of news not known to the Net…”
“I can do that. But will you need help from the M.A.G.I.S.?”
“Yes, but discreetly, if you please.”
“Will do.”
Jose sharply turned the corner and sped towards Edsa. It was very dark and hardly anyone on the road. But the rain was a huge factor as it was really pouring. Now on edsa, he was drifting cars and dodging traffic.
“Agent, this is the OIC of the outpost and it has come to my attention that you have taken the Acura.”
“Well, yeah.”
“DAMN YOU! THAT’S MY CAR!”
“Well, you said it was action ready.”
“Don’t get a single scratch on that piece of equipment!”
“yeah, yeah, whatever. What do the buttons on the side do?”
“Don’t touch them!”
“But it’s sooooooooo tempting…I WANNA PUSH THIS ONE!”
And Jose pushed a button. Instantly, the hubcaps of the car exploded from their place, revealing an autocannon.
“Waw! Asteeeg!”
“Jose, this is Thomas. The OIC has agreed to let you “borrow” the car and use it against them in your attempt to recapture the enemy and to save his rep.”
“That’s right. I’m sorry. Now I’ll tell you what the rest of the buttons do.”
At that moment, a car window to the side opened and revealed a man holding a rifle. Just as he was about to pull the trigger, Jose pulled the emergency brakes, causing his car to spin 360, thus making the man miss.
“Are there any weapons on this shit?”
“IT IS NOT SHIT!”
“Yeah, whatever.”
“You can push the button there to fire the autocannons. If you push this other button, you can activate the flamethrowers on the side.”
Jose steered the car behind the other car and pushed the button that fires the autocannons. Bullets flew from the cannon and ripped through steel within the opposing car. Jose switched lanes and overtook him for in a few seconds later, the car burst into fiery metal.
“Jose, perhaps you should try a more subtle approach…”
“Yeah, so is there anything here that ain’t explosive?”
“…”
“I thought so.”
Jose can now see the jeep with the snooping equipment. Flanking it were two red cars and leading it was a blue civic.
“Hey, is there anything that can help me in this situation?”
“If I recall, there’s a switch there that activates the nitrous oxide, it’s on the steering wheel.”
“yeY! Now for some speed fun!”
“Oh yeah, and I don’t know why it took long for me to remember this. There’s a metal guard on the car.”
“Metal guard?”
“Yeah. Hit the fourth button on the pad.”
Jose did as he was told and pushed it. From beneath the car, metal plates formed around the car forming some sort of steel fortification.
“Damn, you should’ve told me this earlier.”
Jose, in the armored car, moved into position directly between the two red cars. they lowered their windows and shot the car with weapons but the armor was too tough. Maneuvering the car skillfully, he managed to slip infront of the car on the left. When it was right behind it, he pulled the emergency brakes and the car behind him bumped headfirst into the armor. Jose pushed the nitrous boost and gave the car a small meltdown.
“Nice driving agent. Now, there’s an EMP blast cannon beneath the hood, if you push this certain button. The problem is, it’s an AoE weapon and if you wanna know how much they know inside that jeep, you better not fry their equipment with that weapon.”
“Right.”
Jose hit the button and the cannon surged upward. He drafted the car, waiting for a fully charged shot.
Just as he was about to fire, the convoy turned right. Jose realized it too late and had to power slide over to the opposite lane, nearly hitting another car.
“Outpost 21, can I get intel on where we are now?”
“Ortigas.”
“Ortigas? Damn! There are about 5 agencies in the area.”
“Yes, and I have even worse news. They’re transmitting something. It’s not a radio signal, but more like an email or something.”
“They’re trying to transmit the conversation!”
“Yes. Jose, you’re gonna have to EMP that jeep, now!”
But it was difficult now, the car in front of Jose wouldn’t let him pass through. Jose veered left and right, trying to move behind the car, but it wouldn’t let it. In a reckless effort, Jose pushed the nitro, bumped the red car and slammed on the brakes.
The red car was hit bad and spun out of control because of the wet road. Now having a clear path, Jose fired the EMP.
“Outpost 21, have you sent back-up to my location?”
“Yeah, they’re on the way.”
“Good. Because I hafta go. Oh yeah, Sir Thomas? Can I get a car like this? Please?”

*******Undisclosed Mansion, Quiapo Manila******
******2015******
******Inside Main Office******
“Sir, I’m really uneasy. What if that man betrays us?”
“I paid top dollar for those mercs. It’s not in their training to betray me.”
“But sir…those Agencies are crafty…”
“Alright. If it makes you feel better, put the guards on yellow alert and double the patrols.”
“Yes, thank you sir.”
*******2100******
******Outside the mansion, a few houses away*******
A black unmarked Mazda RX7 rolled down the street and parked a few houses away from the said Mansion. Two men stepped out of the front doors. One of them carried two laptops and several other surveillance equipment. The other man opened the trunk and took out two briefcases.
Jose stepped out from the back and smelled the air. It was a cool, calm night. A perfect day for assassination. An agent stepped up to him and offered him the briefcase. Jose opened it and got out the weapons in it. Two silenced 9mms, two mp5s, a shotgun and several knives. He also got out a communications headset and snapped it on.
“This is Silent Retribution, Testing 1. 2.”
“SR, this is Agent Germain, comm. units loud and clear.”
“Right. This is your first time, todd?”
“Hell yeah. But this field agent thing is great.”
“Alright. That’s nice to hear. What’t’ve you got?”
“I got on laptop on, and I gotta tell ya, the place is as guarded as Malacañang Palace on Edsa Day.”
“Someone suspects us coming.”
“Yeah, but no worries.”
“Tell me bout the infrastructure.”
“The other laptop can tell you that. Have you ever played cs_mansion in counterstrike?”
“Yup. Is it just like it?”
“Hell yeah. You’ve got three possible entrances from there too. The most suicidal is going through the front door. The second one is by us blasting a hole in the wall.”
“And the third is the underground.”
“Yeah. The third option seems the most viable as you’re going for stealth. Our GPS infrared tracker says that there are around 6 people on the basement level. But there’re bound to be more trouble if they raise alarm.”
“Right. So where do I need to go?”
“On the second floor, there’s a room. Behind a wardrobe, there’s a staircase. Go up and through that and you’re in his main office.”
“Are you sure this is all I’ve got?”
“Well, like you said…this is the first time me and Alvin got on a field assignment. We don’t do frontal assaults. But I suppose Alvin can provide sniper cover if you’ll need it.”
“That’s nice. Well, I’ll be going then.”
“Good luck sir.”
“Same to you.”
Alvin had finished assembling the contents of the other briefcase, a hybrid sniper. “That doesn’t look like any ordinary sniper,” said Jose as he saw that it was mounted on a tripod and had a very long chain of bullets. “It’s a prototype. When you mate a machinegun to a sniper, you get this baby.” Jose shrugged it off and walked towards a nearby manhole.
Once down, Agent Todd guided him through the maze of underground tunnels. “That’s right. Through those pipes there, then up. Place the silent charges there and go through the hole. Once you’re up, a small wooden board should be easy enough to cut through. It will take you beneath a desk in the basement.”
Jose followed these instructions and said, “Ok agent, give me GPS on the targets.” “Sir, you’ve got two men on the far wall, three near your immediate position and one man near the stair right next to the alarm.”
Jose thought quickly and moved. He drew his 9mm and fired at the men on the far wall. He kicked the man to his right beneath his feet. He grabbed a knife and flung it towards the enemy near the alarm. He pulled out his other gun and fired at the two other men. This was done so fast that it was all over in 5 seconds.
He stepped over the man he kicked and revived him. He pointed the gun to his head and said, “You will tell me something I want to know.” “Therearethreealarmsintheentiremansiononeofthemishereanotherisontheendofthesecondfloorstaricaseandthelastwouldbeonthefrontdoorbutyoucandisablethealarmifyoucutthepowerbutthenthatwouldjustevenmorealertyourpresenceandbythewaytherearesecuritycamerasineachroomandthebestthingyoumightwannadoismakesureyoustayinthecorridorsandavoidgoingintheroomsbutifyoumustknow, there’s a security camera behind you.”
“Thanks bitch.” And Jose shot him. An alarm sounded through out the building. “Oh shit Jose,” came Todd’s voice on the comm. unit “We’ve got tons of men heading towards the basement area.” “Thanks for the warning.” Jose grabbed his shotgun and thought, ‘Screw stealth.’
When the first man peeked down the stairs, Jose shot the poor man and wounded several more. Jose shot several more rounds up the stairs and made his way up. Towards the end of the stairs, he leaped forward and rolled into a waiting gunman. Jose kicked him in the shins and fired a shell at the people behind him. Jose drew his sub machinegun and ran down the hall.
“Todd, I want to know where I want to go. Alvin, take your gun and try to shoot out the power. After that, take some infrared on the area and take out who you can.” Jose fired several rounds at the following men and continued to move.
“Jose, there’s a staircase to your left. Go up then move down the hall straight through. Go through the room second to your left and behind the wardrobe.” Jose pounced on a guard and shot him in the groin. Ran up the stairs, guns blazing. At the top, he shoved the butt end of the sub machinegun into the man next to the alarm. He threw down the sub machinegun and drew a second one.
Just then, the lights went out. Jose knew that Alvin must’ve shot the power generator or something. Using stealth, he sneaked through the remaining guards and slipped into the room. “I need GPS here!” “There’re two men crouching next to the two ends of the wardrobe. I don’t think they know you’re there.” Jose took a knife and through it to one of them. Simultaneously, he shot the other one.
Jose walked up to the wardrobe and pushed it. There was a staircase. Jose crept up till he came to a door. He opened it and it revealed a dark room. Jose took one step forward and the lights in the room flashed open. On the desk seated a man who seemed to look like a boss. Around him were mercs with holding a variety of guns. From small pistols to a rocket launcher.
“Hello. Who’re you?”
“Retribution.”
Jose jumped back down the stairs while firing bullets through the air, taking down as much of them as he could. He rolled down the staircase and leaned against the wall. He reloaded his mp5 and took out his 9mm. “Todd, I need a eyes here.” “You took out 5 of them but there are still six more. There are two men creeping down the stairs holding rifles.” Jose strafed right and fired his two weapons. He then crouched down the other side of wall.
“They’ve sent one man down this time but he’s got sniper cover from the top. You can’t take out the sniper if you’re with the guy.” Jose stepped back and sprinted up, catching the mercenary by surprise. He leaped over him and sprayed bullets around the room. His gun barrels clicked empty and he threw the down. He pulled out another knife and threw it down the stairs to the man.
He grabbed an AK and stepped over the desk. He pulled the boss man out from under the desk and threw him over the desk. He pinned the man down and pointed the rifle to his head. “Please don’t kill me!” said the man, “I can tell you more! I know who’s the mastermind behind all this.” Jose cocked the rifle. “Please!” pleaded the man. “There’s a person who hired me to do that! There’s an even bigger plot!” Jose said, “Talk.” But before he could do that, Jose fired. The man’s right hand dropped from behind him, clutching a revolver.
“Alvin, clean up. Todd, order the cover up team to finish up. I want to go home now.”

Now who ordered the attack?
Was it just a bluff?
Do i really have to ask these questions?
When will I write....better...stuff?
Back from Tagats. Still no word from Darkness.
===========IX. May 2, 2006 =============================================
The day before, Jose watched the rallies of the people rallying. Not much happened. Nothing uneventful at least.
And so today, Jose decided to visit headquarters because he was asked to give a short report on the incident.
**************inside MAGIS HQ*************
Jose got out of the lift and was greeted by the MAGIS Operations Manager. Jose returned the greeting and asked the condition of the Sniper that was captured. "Well, we've interrogated him for days and he still wont say anything. He's not tied to the people who hired him closely, but he doesn't say anything still. He seems highly resistant to all of our psychological and physical tortures. Prolly a massachist or something."
They kept walking till the came to the cell where the man was being held. Inside, he was chained to a chair while an agent inside who had been interrogating him had a look of surprise on his face. When Jose asked why, the OM answered, "It seems that the captive was recently given a certain drug. And the effects are not at all what seem to be showing. Also, he's on a third lie detector test and he's showing no signs of lying even though he keeps repeating that he's a radioactive monkey."
The agent stepped out and said to the Manager, "Sir, I-I think you should have someone else do it. I can't stand it anymore. The torture he's gone through is more than anyone with a drop of sympathetic pain can." Jose watched the captive inside the cell, then stepped inside.
The man looked at him and said, "So you want to know who tried to kill you too?"
"Well, what do you think?"
"I think so."
"Then can you tell me who it is?"
"Sure I can. But i wont."
"Why not?"
"Cuz i just don't like you."
"Well, then i suppose it sucks to be you."
"Why so? You're gonna hurt me like they do?"
"... I don't see why not. But then i heard that you're resistant to all that crap."
"Yup. Everything, i learned in mercenary camp."
"Right. But is there anything that you CAN tell me?"
"Um...that there's a reason why we were hired....but i'm not gonna tell you....and...did i miss anything? oh yeah. You suck."
"Right....right...by the way, i've studied bout those merc camps. There's one thing I'm sure you've never been trained against."
"Oh really? Is it being attacked by rabid poodles? or Killing me with stupid corny jokes? Or maybe you plan on stabbing me with dry words? You're bluffing. There's no torture i cant stand."
Jose stepped outside for awhile. In a few minutes, he came back carrying a rectangular case. Behind him were several Agents and the MO. Jose said, "I hope you're ready." Jose gave a signal to the people behind him and they put on earmuffs. "W-what the hell is in that case?" asked the man.
Jose didn't reply. Because he was already putting the violin to his shoulder. A few seconds later, some of the agents behind Jose couldn't stand it anymore and left the room. Later, the others were already writhing in pain on the floor. Even the prisoner was shaking.
Jose kept playing his violin. It was really....really.....really....horrible. After Jose's first piece, the captive was screaming in pain, giving in to the torture that was the evil violin playing sound thingy.
"Alright! Alright! I'll talk! jsut stop....the evil....music....graaaaaaH!"
"Then you will tell me what I want to know."
"We never saw the person who hired us face to face...but he goes by a codename of 'Sky Shadow'. We were summoned once to his house. It's in this mansion somewhere. I'll give you the location."
"Thanks. And Agents, if he's wrong, call me. I'll bring my violin over again."
====================END=================================
It's just great y'know. I'll be going to Tagaytay for the next two days and Darkness might call any day by then! Oh well...since there's no chance that he'll actually come by that time....Ya. I'll just keep going then.
========================VIII. April 30, 2006 =============================
Jose was in his room studying the files he was given when he received an burst encrypted email from the agency. As usual, it had no return address. But the contents were somewhat urgent and shocking.

Agent SR! We have received word that there have been several other deaths and we think that they are all connected somehow. It's all the same person. We bring you two pieces of news. The first is that we need you to find that person as fast as possible and take him down. At all cost. We are prepared to pay whatever the cost. Secondly, the enemy might be aware that you are currently holding the assignment of tracking them down and might go after you.

At that moment, out of instinct, Jose kicked back from the computer desk and swung his swivel chair out of sight. Just as he did that, a shot came from outside and broke his window and went through the place where Jose's head had been just moments ago. But then the bullet went through Jose's monitor and fried it.
Jose dropped to the floor and rolled towards the window. He examined the window hole and saw that it was just a single round breakage, and not an entire broken window. This meant that it was a high powered sniper. And in order to fire that shot, it'd have to be fired from a very far place.
Jose stood peeked from the window and looked around. In the far distance, he could see a helicopter fly by. He grabbed his 'scope and peered through it. Sure enough, there was a sniper on it. Jose supposed that they thought that he was dead. But just then, he saw them fly closer to his home. And another man came out. He was holding an RPG.
Jose grabbed a phone and immediately called the Net. "Operator! THIS IS AGENT SR REQUESTING HELP! I HAVE A HOSTILE CRAFT HEADED TOWARDS OUR HOME AND WILL BE IN CONTACT WITHIN AN E.T.A. OF 5 MINUTES! SEND HELP!
"Sir, we are currently tied up at the moment. But if you wait awhile, we might be able to send a squad in 20 mi-"
The phone got cut at that point which meant that his house was now within radar jamming range. That was approximately 400 km away. Just enough for Jose to create a plan. Jose ran outside the house and climbed towards the roof of the neighboring house. From there, he ran from rooftop to rooftop till he got to a house near a powerline. He also saw a nearby rope, complete with grappling hook (wow! how did that get there?). He tied one end of the rope to the power line and held the other in his hand. The chopper now saw him and was headed towards him. He knew, like most choppers, that they would make one pass over him before they could get into position to shoot him.
Jose readied himself for it and just when they did, he flung the hook to the edge of the chopper, tying them to the post. The helicopter got jerked and momentarily lost control. When it jerked, the Sniper fell off the chopper as Jose hoped. Jose jumped down and headed towards the downed man.
When Jose reached the guy, he was unconscious. But the Helicopter now had a chance to re-correct itself. It now seemed intent on using its rear propellers to cut off the rope, which proved incredibly hard. In the meantime, however the RPG man decided that no one must be left alive atleast to bring the truth anywhere. He loaded a grenade into the weapon and fired at the sniper and Jose.
Jose grabbed the man and threw him into the alley with him. The explosion from the grenade threw them a coupla feet in the air and threw them back to the ground. Jose grabbed the sniper again and hoisted him over his back. He then began to run back to any shelter. Because by now, the chopper could be free just by tugging the rope.
But in the perfect timing that comes with all good guy bad guy stories, MAGIS choppers came in the area to disarm the copter. Vans now came streaming into the scene. Jose showed his ID and the men nodded to acknowledge his position. They took the sniper back to base and gave Jose a ride home.

In the park…
Jose strolled through this certain park many times before. So he went straight to the meeting place in the park on the bench across the hotdog stand.
As foretold, there was a dude there. Just…a dude. He was holding a standard briefcase which meant that there was some thingy inside it. Obviously, he was an agent. But then let’s all pretend that we don’t know that men with briefcases who sit in park benches across a hotdog stand are agents and are surprised at the predicament that has formed before us.
“Jose?”
“You the guy with the info?”
“Yup. Take a seat and let’s talk.”
“Right. Now what can you tell me bout the victim?”
The dude handed over the briefcase.
“He’s 31, male, Filipino citizen and he’s been an agent for 9 years.”
“What’s his position?”
“He’s a senior agent who currently leads a field assignment.”
“And what’s this assignment?”
“Classified. You don’t need to know.”
“Classified? He’s been in the Net for 9 years, a senior agent, and leading a field assignment. Obviously, he’s protecting something. So what’s he protecting?”
“It’s classified sir, nothing more can I say.”
“I’ll give you classified after I shove this briefcase up your ass.”
“But sir! I honestly don’t know myself!”
“Fine…you get to live. Now tell me where he lives?”
“Just across the place where he was guarding.”
“Aha! So he WAS protecting something. Now what is it that you’re hiding from me?”
“It’s only rumors! Nothing more! But if it’ll help, I heard it had something to do with tracking sensors or something.”
“Right. How was the victim killed?”
“He was ‘accidentally’ given a certain bacteria.”
“Damn. Who gave it?”
“A waiter. We tried to track him down, but apparently, the group that protects him is more powerful than we can say.”
“Any eye witnesses?”
“Other than a few who just saw him fall from his seat and choke and die, none.”
“Good. Give me a few days, and I’ll have the answer.”
“Wow! Are you really that good an agent?”
“No, but obviously the author will have figured it out.”
“Ok. And I forgot! Half the money is in it. the second half will be given when you complete the mission.”
“MONEY!!!”
“Yes. And also, if you can complete your mission without alerting the media, I’ve been informed that I am entitled to throw in a few extra grand.”
“yeY!”
